Skiff Reunion Reminder – MBSC is proud to be hosting the 18ft Skiff Reunion in the Col Taylor Lounge this Sunday afternoon.
We look forward to reacquainting with these icon sailors that are entrenched in the history of the Bay!!

18 foot Skiffs as we know them.
Sailed at MBSC from 1978 to 1987 and again from 2010-2013.
These large skiffs are exciting to sail and provide a great spectacle when under full sail in a sea breeze.
Unfortunately they are expensive to maintain, which lead to them ceasing activities in W.A.
Holding a rich history at MBSC – a type of 18 foot skiff was part of MBSC from when the Club was founded in 1897, until 1929.

Goolugatup Sailing Regatta
Lucas & Finley represent Mounts Bay Sailing Club

The Goolugatup Sailing Carnival is an annual event that is held over multiple days across different off the beach fleets. This year the Goolugatup cup had 75 boats in its 1st weekend.
MBSC was represented by Finley and I competing in our first regatta in the open skiffs, using MBSC club boats. We had a good first regatta, with a lot to learn.
We are building up to the ICR regatta at RFBYC which is also the Open Skiff State Championship, followed by Open Skiff Nationals at SOPYC in January. We have taken a pause from the other boats that we sail to take the opportunity to sail in a nationals in our home waters and represent MBSC.
We would like to see other boats from MBSC join us in representing our club in local competitions.
It’s great fun and you get to meet new friends and learn heaps.

Thank you to MBSC for all your support.
Lucas Cunningham
Junior captain
Don’t spoil it – reminding pen occupiers as to how to correctly dispose of bilge oils and noxious substances.
