The Chook report- Getting high for tea
Reporter: Hei Hei the chicken
On March 12 MBSC will host a high tea with proceeds going to improve accessibility at MBSC facilities. I clucked with Commodore Fiona Davison to find out more.
When this chicken wants to get high he finds a really good perch, How are your ladies getting high? “Unfortunately they’ll have to use the stairs, one of the things we’re going to use some of the proceeds to instal a lift at the club for disabled access.”
Some woke sharpie sailors were recently crowing in the bar, they seen proud of women’s participation in the sharpie class and the club more generally is this something you support? “Absolutely. Sailing is for everybody. We welcome all, even if you’re the only Chook in the club.
Is the high tea a hen only event? ”No, everyone’s welcome but I think it will appeal to the umm, hen demographic”
Are High Heels expected at the MBSC high tea. “I think we’d see a few of the girls dolled up and in their high heels”. What about the guys? Why don’t we see them sailing in high heels? “…stiletto heels put holes in your boat” added Commodore Davidson
Are we really committed to being inclusive? What would happen if one of the guys turned up for high tea in high heels high heels? . “I’ll See someone cute guys them a drink?” giggled Commodore Davidson. Am I still restricted to light beer? “Definitely”.
