3 of a Kind and Cock of the Swan

Three of a Kind and Cock of the Swan was held on Sunday 20th March with over 80 boats registering to partake in the annual events that date back over 50 years.
A very special presentation was made by Terry Gaunt, Teddy McDavitt, Kevin Owens and Rube Gabrielson on behalf of themselves and families in appreciation for the many special and fond memories they hold of their times and enjoyment of MBSC, with the presentation of our new Club downstairs bell inscribed to reflect the sentiment. As a Club we honour these long standing members and thank them sincerely for their generous contribution to ensuring our future sailing presentations held outside in the under croft area allow for the comradery and sportsmanship we are all so fond of.
Huge shout out to the many volunteers who assisted in making this day such a success on the MBSC 125th Sailing Season calendar.
Congratulations to Cock of the Swan winners
Allan Gamble on Tornado Aeolus for Multihull and Sean Carr on Moth Kamicarrze for Monohull as well as the  Three of a kind winners WA 125s in division B and PDSC Javelins for Division A!

Sundays at the bay

On the weekend we had 5 Pacers hit the water in a parent/ child programme of allowing our junior sailors some time on the water with their beloved grown up’s.

With tough conditions on water due to the strong south easterly breezes being experienced we had 3 finishers and many smiles on the lawn after the days racing. Well done to the adults and kids for jumping on board this new initiative of our L&D Co-Ordinator Conor Smith.

Talent Spotlight

Commodore Fiona Davidson was on duty on Sunday afternoon and was approached by a few or our junior sailors to come for a walk with them. Off they all trotted with Fiona in tow to proudly present their construction project of the day – a junior cubby house designed with materials and bits of pieces found within the club grounds. Fabulous effort kids and we love the energy and initiative that comes with building such a masterpiece.

Way Back Wednesday – Celebrating 125 Years

A good fleet of GP14 at MBSC shows how popular this Class was during the 1970s when this photo was taken, which led to MBSC hosting their World Championship. We still have a small fleet of GP14 who are keen to have more sailors join them.
