Sail Freo 29-30th Oct – MBSC represented by Lucas & Finley in the 29erXS. They were only allowed to race the Saturday because of high winds and unstable sea-state Sunday had the OA cancel majority of junior fleets.  Officially the results are a 1st from only 1 race sailed but it was the experience of being out there in the trying conditions that was the real benefit.  As they were cancelled from racing on Sunday, instead of crying about not being allowed to sail, the boys decided to come up to MBSC and join the afternoon club race in an o’pen skiff each and race each other just for fun.

This coming weekend PDSC is holding a 2 day Training Camp and regatta. The boys will participate to get some training in on the o’pen skiff before the Nationals which will be held at SoPYC in early Jan 23.  The boys have only sailed the o’pen skiff a handful of times so they are looking forward to the challenge in a National fleet and hope to encourage some of the other MBSC members to also compete.

In S97 News:
Skallagrigg competed in the S97 Association 5th Metro Race from 6 races scheduled. Racing is tight with Skallagrigg now sitting in 2nd after a not so glamourous day out.  Let’s just say that they needed that drink when coming in!! No photo evidence on this one! 6th and final race for the series is scheduled for this Saturday.
