Windsurfer LT State Championships

Congratulations to all the Windsurfer LTs and Volunteers who were a part of the 2022 Windsurfer LT State Championships which was held down at the bay this long weekend! Well done to all those who took part.

Don’t Forget! Mounts Bay Sailing Club will be holding the 3 of a Kind and Cock of the Swan Regatta next weekend on the 20th of March, so make sure you get your teams together and nominate for this great annual event!

Flying Ant State Championships 2022

Mounts Bay Sailing Club would like to give a special mention and congratulations to Finley Symonds and Lucas Cunningham who went down to Geographe Bay Yacht Club over the long weekend for the Flying Ant State Titles for 2022! With some great sailing conditions on Saturday and lighter winds on Sunday the state trophy was hard fought for with the winner being determined on a count back!

Eight races were undertaken over three sessions, but our very own Finley and Lucas secured the win on Addiction over Bind Vitale-Jones and Beccy Best on Beach Entry from Royal Perth Yacht Club.

Harriet & Zac Mellor also competed in Predator, in Harriet’s 1st racing experience and finished in 6th with a 3rd place best result! Congratulations on your debut race Harriet! Phantom was also due to race however unfortunately had to isolate later Friday afternoon and couldn’t attend.

Huge congratulations to all those who participated in the races and massive shoutout to Geographe Bay Yacht Club and volunteers for putting on a spectacular regatta! The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from all our members returning to the big smoke!

Welcome to MBSC!

The club would like to welcome Lex Barnett as a temporary member whos Beneteau 41 is gracing our moorings while he waits for space at his home Club SoPYC. Lex and family hope to join in on our Cruiser Twilight series during their stay.

Cruisers come down to the wire!

Friday night twilight at the Bay enjoyed an awesome sunset sail with the championship currently sitting with a 1 point difference between 1st and 2nd to take out the 2022 title. Who will it be? Kabisa, or Micron!?

Important Member Notice

Unfortunately the club has recently had some Sump Oil dumped on the battery recycling point at our onsite station. This will be time consuming to remove because it has to be taken to special collection points.

All members are reminded that these facilities are managed by volunteers and to take care when leaving behind waste. Please note that the club does not currently have a location to leave Sump oil and must be taken off premises.

At MBSC we provide an extensive range of learn to sail courses for both juniors and adults in an inclusive and fun environment.

The MBSC Development Squad offers specialised coaching from experienced and fully accredited instructors to improve skills to take participants to the next level of race ready.

This photo was taken back in 2008 before the Elizabeth Quey redevelopment. Many showcases would take place on the shores of the CBD with some MBSC dinghys taking the opportunity to show their craft! Do you recognise any of the shown boats? Let us know!
