What a weekend it was! The Inter Club Championships marks day 3 of the annual interclubs regatta co – ordinated by Swan River Sailing each year and hosted by Mounts Bay Sailing Club. Friday night veterans division was completed successfully and was followed by the women’s session Saturdays’ morning with 4 races undertaken. On the Sunday we headed in to our open division sessions this morning and then again from 12.30pm. Brilliant viewing from the bar and balcony at the Bay as all racing held right out the front of club. Visiting sailors, friends, family and of course members all joined the celebrations!

Interclubs Veterans teams heading for home. 3 races. Light light SW breeze made for very mixed results.

The St George school marine program has been running at the club with 20 students doing an after school sailing program and also running a Year 11 sailing marine program. For many students it is their first experience of sailing and of the club.

Last years program saw some new club members and also a new assistant instructor!

The year 12 program starts next month with the students attaining their RST upon completion of the program.

With the program the club gets a return on its training assets and exposure to a broader group of new members.

Volunteering WA, with generous support from Lotterywest, offered volunteer involving organisations across Western Australia the opportunity to apply for a grant to organise an event which recognises and thanks volunteers during National Volunteer Week 2024 (Monday 20th to Sunday 26th May)…..and our Club has won a grant!
